Below is a list of portion sizes of some fresh fruits, not all necessarily low carb fruits, but suitable in these portions for even a low carb diet:But first, let's mention Lemons and Limes - These are used in small enough amounts, and usually mixed with other foods so their carb ratio is not enough to worry about. Here are some "low carb fruit" serving sizes to use as guidelines. one cup blackberries one cup raspberries 3/4 cup strawberries 1/3 cup blueberries 1 cup cubed papaya 1/2 cup honeydew melon one starfruit two small fresh apricots 1/2 green apple 1/2 kiwi 8 cherries one small peach one plum one small tangerine
Seriously, fruit is good food. Fresh fruits are rich in fiber, water, vitamins, minerals, and they help to alkalize an overly acidic body.
