Greens First and Foremost

Try to eat some fresh dark leafy greens (or at least a green supplement) every day.
When you're writing up that shopping list, make dark leafy greens a priority.

Some compelling reasons to eat dark leafy greens every day:
Greens are rich in potassium, iron, zinc, antioxidants and folates (folic acid).
Dark leafy greens are a source of Omega 3's (really?? yes!)
Greens provide essential alkaline
minerals including calcium and magnesium.
I just feel better when I eat greens every day, and I'll feel even better when YOU eat greens every day too, because the more greens we eat, collectively, the healthier the population becomes! More health equals less doctor visits, less doctor visits means less prescription drugs, and on and on...
Greens can be delicious, you can enjoy your daily servings of those dark leafy greens in dishes like
- a spinach salad
- steamed kale with zesty tahini sauce
- braised collard greens
- arugula and olives with lemon
- julienned black kale salad with olive oil and chili flakes
- garlicky dandelion greens with poached eggs and raw mayo
- adding a handful of fresh purslane leaves into your salad
- even adding fresh green herbs to your finished dishes
